The handy N-Board acts as an easel to prop up your iPad, but also sports a hub with 4 USB ports, and what I thought was an unnecessary cooling fan.

Upon scrolling further down the product page, I came to discover that the N-Board was actually designed as a cooling station for everyday netbooks, but happens to make the perfect prop for your iPad too. That said, if you have both an iPad and a netbook, it’s nice to know that it’ll work with both.

Either way, you’re probably not going to be buying an N-Board any time soon, unless you happen to live in Korea, where it sells for 35,000 KRW (appx. $29 USD).

So what do you say, folks? Are you impressed or what? As for me I have to protest against a few features described here. Sure the design is impressive but we already have an iPhone Pro. It’s called the iPad and although it doesn’t have dedicated gaming buttons it will act quite nicely as a mobile gaming platform. It has an even bigger screen which means we’ll be able to use the iPhone for communication-related matters and the iPad for games and apps. That does make sense, right?

And what about that crazy power plug? There are tons of docks made for iPhones and iPods that use the 30-pin port. Why should Apple change the port and thus render all those products useless? In case the iPhone Pro was real then users would need special MagSafe to 30-pin connectors for their docks, wouldn’t they?

And what’s the deal with iPhone OS 3.2? We’re looking forward for iPhone OS 4.0 for the next iPhone versions, aren’t we?

Naturally the device in the pictures here is just a concept so I’ll understand that designers can take all the freedom they want when imagining next-gen products like the iPhone Pro or the iPhone 4G. But I’d like to see these designers approach the matter from a realistic point of view and create next-gen gadgets that would be based on available Apple technology (at least what we know of so far) and thus could actually be feasible for the near future.

We’ll be back with more iPhone 4G designs as this saga will not be over soon. But at least we’ll get to appreciate the amazing work these designers put in as well as add some constructive criticism of our own. Via Link 1 2

After building their own operating system for the Garmin nuvifone G60 caused the handset to take roughly a decade (in smart phone years, that is) to come out, it’s no surprise that Garmin-Asus is steering clear of that route. Even hard to say how many times we heard the beautiful promises about the MID (Mobile Internet Device - portable devices for Internet access), but did not see any live ones. Competition these devices with a diagonal of up to 7 inches, as stated in the past «clarification» Intel, which has invented the concept of this gadget, now a netbuki, internet tablet, and, of course, different QWERTY-phones with large displays (eg, Nokia E90, HTC Touch Pro). But this concept, developed by Czech designer Jan Rytirom (Jan Rytir) looks very healthy and, in our opinion, will go down in history even if not realized in the «iron». Nokia announced the new N86 8MP, the company’s first 8 Megapixel mobile phone, at the MWC 2009. The N86 8MP is a dual slider that can slide up and down. The phone features a 8 Megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss Tessar optics, dual LED flash, digital image stabilization, and 30fps video recording.

Panasonic announced the upgrades to its ToughBook 19 rugged convertible tablet PC and the Toughbook 30 clamshell rugged laptop. Both devices are now based on Intel’s Centrino 2 with vPro technology and offers a “concealed mode” which allows users to easily turn all device lights off – screen and LEDs – using a function (Fn) key.
The Panasonic Toughbook 19 Convertible Tablet PC is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo SU9300 1.2GHz processor, up to 4GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive. It has a 10.4-inch LED backlit display with Circular polarization and 4 to 1000 nit LCD brightness.

Nokia is showing of its Nokia Locate Sensor ,a prototype, a little gadget that keep track of you wallet, car keys and gadgets within a range of 100m by using a special application installed on your mobile phone. You will need to attach the Locate Sensor to the items and start the app on your phone. The application on the phone will automatically notify you and guided you to the lost object if it is within 100 m. The Nokia Locate Sensor was shown in the CES 2009, it is still under prototype at the moment.

Honda V4

Honda has just pulled the covers off a radical new concept motorcycle at the Intermot show in Cologne, Germany. Technically, there isn't much here that's real, but there's still plenty to dissect. Honda is obviously feverishly working on a new V4 engine and that will soon show up in a production bike. Rumor has it that the Japanese company is taking another look at oval pistons, which would allow for more valves and larger combustion chambers. Could this powerplant show up in a new Interceptor? While this is currently nothing more than a sculpture, so was the new VMax when Yamaha first showed that concept. Studying the lines a bit, we can tell that this wouldn't likely be a race bike, but more likely a new street-going model. We also see hubless wheels, which would be an extremely far-out bit of tech if they were to make it into production. Is that possible? According to Honda, yes. Big Red is saying this design is a "new beginning" for the company and the direction that it's headed, and that sounds awfully exciting. We'll be watching. 06 more images after the break...

Million Dollar Motorcycles

Japanese artists are renowned for their Zen-like patience, but spending 7,500 hours hand-crafting a motorcycle would seem to push that to absurd lengths - until you see the motorcycle. Then you wonder how Chicara Nagata managed to build something so stunning in so little time. 03 More images after the break...

Nagata's award-winning motorcycles are breathtaking works of art, so it is fitting that three of them are featured in an exhibit at New York's Ippodo Gallery and the Contemporary Asian Art Fair. The bikes are as meticulously crafted as they are stunningly detailed, blending vintage parts with modern design to create motorcycles that are simultaneously retro and futuristic.
Nagata's art pays tribute to the very machines that almost killed him, and to the people who saved him. "There are many ways a man can express himself, but there are not many things I can do," he writes in the notes accompanying his exhibit. "I have found something on which I will pour my life."
Nagata, 46, was 16 when a motorcycle accident nearly killed him. He endured eight months of intensive therapy and several blood transfusions during his recovery, all the while wondering why he should survive so horrible an accident when so many others haven't. Nagata, whose name means "power," decided to honor those who had died, and those who saved him, by creating art. He became a graphic designer in 1982 and launched his own studio a decade later.
His love affair with motorcycles was rekindled in 1993 when he started building his first custom. It took him seven years. Whereas most motorcycle "builders" do little more than open the Fat Book parts catalog and start ordering parts they simply bolt together in a week or two, Nagata hand-crafts everything but the drivetrains. The frames, the suspension components, even the throttle assemblies and hand controls are designed and made by Nagata.
He's built 13 bikes so far. Nagata won the grand prize in the 2006 AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building for Chicara Art I, a sleek retro-ride powered by a 1939 Harley-Davidson U motor. He took second place last year with Chicara Art II, which features a 1942 Harley WLA motor. The three bikes featured at Ippodo can be had for $1 million apiece which, given the level of workmanship, strikes us as a bargain.

Nokia has just announced its Nokia N97 at Nokia World 2008 convention at Barcelona, Spain. It is claimed as the world’s most advanced mobile computer, designed for the needs of Internet-savvy consumers. The whole thing looks shiny and it has both touchscreen and QWERTY as some of us are sucks at touchscreen.

Nokia’s flagship Nseries device introduces leading technology - including multiple sensors, memory, processing power and connection speeds - for people to create a personal Internet and share their ’social location.’
It has 5.0-megapixel camera with high-quality Carl Zeiss optics, 16:9 and DVD quality video capture, and support for services like Share on Ovi for immediate sharing over HSDPA and WLAN. Well, 5.0-megapixel is kinda common now. The craziest part will be its memory storage, the Nokia N97 can support up to 48GB storage, including its 32GB onboard memory.

Sony just barely updated the PSP but designer Tai Chiem is already thinking about the next iteration. His design calls for a flexible OLED display that can be conveniently rolled. An electric charge powering the display stiffens it while providing near bezeless prime real estate for gaming. Stereo speakers on either side double as a jog wheel and camera control. He also envisages Sony finally implementing two joysticks. Pipe dream or not, it’s sexy and lives up to its name; it don’t get any more portable than this.

Nikon Wifi-enable UP300x Headphone

Nikon Corporation in Japan has introduced their latest Media Port UP. It is a wifi-enabled multimedia playback headset device. Nikon combine the display screen, headphones, mobile A/V player, Wi-Fi capability, high-capacity memory, and power source in one compact device. The device is priced around $587, available in the high performance UP300x and the basic UP300.
The UP300x comes with built-in motion sensor that allows hands free operation (volume adjustment, etc…). It features up to 8GB of flash memory, Wi-Fi b/g, USB port, and two Sanyo eneloop rechargeable batteries and supporting the WMV9, MPEG-1, MPEG-2 video files, and MP3, AAC, WMA9 audio files. The unit is compatible with HTML 4.01, JavaScript, Flash Version 7, other media contents are downloadable from Nikon’s service.
Unfortunately, they are only available in Japan.

Samsung Pixon the 8.0 megapixel camera phone

Alright that day was just pre-announced in Russia, today Samsung has officially announced its Samsung Pixon 8 megapixel camera phone. The pixon has been claimed as the slimmest full-touch 8.0-megapixel camera phone. Measuring 13.8mm slim, and the 8.0-megapixel camera boasts 16x digital zoom, auto-focus, fast-shutter, face detection and geo-tagging.
